What is an SRT file
SRT (SubRip) is the most widely supported subtitle format: plain text with a number, a start and end time, and the line of dialogue. VLC, most players, video editors and platforms like YouTube read it.
Automatically synced SRT subtitles
Voxlate transcribes the audio with Whisper and times every line for you. Besides the transcript in the original language, an AI translates the subtitles into the language you pick out of 53, and you get both .srt files.
When to choose SRT
Choose SRT when the file has to work in any player or platform. It is unstyled text: for colors use WebVTT, and for animated karaoke-style subtitles use ASS.
How it works
- Upload your audio or video file.
- Pick the language of the audio and the language you want to translate into.
- Pick the output format and, if the format supports it, the color and karaoke mode.
- Download the transcript in the original language and the translation from My files. We email you when they are ready.
